Please join The Faces of Cincinnati as we honor and show appreciation for our graduating class of 2020. Today we point the spotlight to high school graduating senior, Jonathan Garner!  Jonathan gave us one of his favorite quotes, above and we asked for some fun facts as follows.

Q: What would you say you are most proud of about yourself?
A: Finishing my high school career with the developmental challenges I have.

Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. What inspired you to choose this path?
A: I will attend the Career X Program at Diamond Oaks to help me work on developing interpersonal skills and help me to a career path.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: I have a very caring mother who has been there for me solo my entire life. She has supported me with my challenges, living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also takes care of my cousin who lives with us. My mom is not working right now because of the Coronavirus, due her health problems. It makes me sad, and I feel like we won’t make it sometimes, but I have faith we will. She always finds a way to take care of me.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met in our community. Why?
A: Mike Fisher, to me he feels like an actual father.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: Pokémon

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world (no restrictions) right now, where would it be and why?
A: Japan, because I would really like to see the culture, mythology to it, scenery, and train to be a ninja swordsman because I’ve watched a lot of people put their sharp edge skills to the test. I would like to do the same.

Q: If you could go back, what advice would you give to yourself as a freshman?
A: Work harder

Q: What is the best advice you received from a teacher? Who was it?
A: Keep on pushing it, I know you can do it. Denise Laux, Intervention Aide

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: Katy Perry

Q: If you could choose anyone alive today or passed, with whom would you like to have lunch? What would you want to know?
A: Kiss, how did they get started as a band?

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
A: I love the close interaction with nature, such as the nature trail by Oakdale Elementary, deer walking up as I water my garden, and my neighbors are very friendly.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: Finishing college and traveling the world.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: I am a huge Animal lover. I love Anime!

Q: What is your favorite month, holiday or season of the year? And do you have a favorite single day on the calendar?
A: November, because it my birthday, and the weather gets frosty. Also December, when it’s very snowy outside. My birthday is November 1.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: Mike Fisher and my mom

Q: What is the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is completely over?
A: Go on a nice walk without wearing a mask.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?
A: My friends and church

Q: Any parting thoughts?
A: I hope there will be some light, that will shine on this dark world, that will bring hope to everyone.
