Girl Scout Troop 41215

Natalie Roell is a Girl Scout in Troop 41215. She and the rest of the troop are on a mission and YOU can help them. Read below about her experience with the scouts and how a couple minutes of your time can have a lasting impact on this great group of girls!

How long have you been involved in Troop 41215?
The girls of Troop 41215 began as Daisies in 2011 – that is most of our lives. Our leaders have taught us the importance of working hard to make our community a better place to live. We participated in events such as:

  • Community cleaning and trash picking up.
  • Organized and coordinated the Dater Montessori Adopt-A-Family.
  • Installed and maintained the pedestrian safety flags in the Westwood Town Hall business districts, to increase visibility and safety for individuals crossing busy streets.

Those experiences have helped us see the world in a more compassionate way. I feel that we are developing into productive young leaders.

Do you have a favorite experience?
My favorite adventure was when we went on a trip to the Nantahala Outdoor Center where we whitewater rafted, zip lined, kayaked and hiked. It was really great to be able to experience something so much bigger than ourselves and to experience it together.

How has scouting changed you?
It has made me want to be more involved in the community and with our environment.

What are you doing now?
Looking back at us as Daisies, it is amazing to see how much has changed. Not just in how we look, but in how we look at the world. We are like family to each other. Even though a lot has changed, one of our goals has stayed the same since we started . .  we have always shared a dream of taking a major trip together and now we actually have the opportunity.

Can you give us more detail?
Sure. EF Tours for Girls is offering a  $20k travel scholarship awarded to one of the top 3 participating troops with the most video “likes”. There are 19 troops in the contest, so we have a pretty good chance of moving to the final round.

What will you do on the trip?
We will be traveling to England, Ireland and Wales, where we will experience the sights and culture. We are really excited for the opportunity to meet up and connect with 2 troops, one from England and one Ireland that we have been in communication with over the last year.
