Meet Ellie Wagner . . .

What High School do you attend?
Clark Montessori High School

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the youngest of four kids and my parents are Shawn and Carrie Wagner. Amongst my siblings, their names are Jacob Wagner (eldest), Erich Wagner, and Jenna Wagner (my twin). My family is my whole life. They are what keeps me going, even when I am at my weakest. My parents are very good at what they do, whether it is being a caretaker or being a person who keeps everything organized and proficient. My mother being an Occupational Therapist Assistant and my father being an Engineering Technical Supervisor for Greater Cincinnati Water Works. Moreover, my siblings are also becoming academically successful. My brother Jacob is also graduating at the end of the summer from the University of Cincinnati with his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Erich is continuing his studies at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Software Programming. Along with my twin sister, we are both graduating from Clark Montessori and attending Xavier University. Jenna will be majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. Being the youngest in the family has its perks, but with a faternal twin, it has its many ups and downs, but with that aside, I’ve always considered her to be my best friend, even if she doesn’t want to admit it.

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to attend Xavier University in the fall of 2021 majoring in Nursing.

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Skyline and LaRosa’s.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world right now, I would travel to Australia. The reason for that is because for all my life and for some reason, I’ve had this joy and excitement everytime I heard the voice of an Australian. Just the way they say things turns my frown upside down. Even just from Google Images on my phone of things around Australia, it seems like a beautiful place to be and thrive.

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Bones.

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
The advice that I would give to both my senior class of 2021 and the younger students at my school would be to never, ever give up. Even the smallest opportunities can make a huge influence on others and yourself as a whole. And most importantlly, you always have be open minded to learning new things, no matter how challenging they may be.

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
Friends.

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would want to have lunch with Taylor Swift. The reason for that is because since the very beginning of this COVID-19 pandemic, I felt so lost and as soon as she released her surprise album Folklore and Evermore, I felt as though her music brought me out of the shadows and into the light. If I were to have lunch with Taylor Swift, I would want to eat at Skyline.

What is your favorite thing about our community?
Diversity.

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Either having a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and working as an Orthopedic Registered Nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital or pursuing my career further into becoming a Nurse Practitioner and working to become a Mid-Wife.

What is something on your bucket list?
Going to Clearwater, Florida, to visit Clearwater Aquarium and swim with Winter the dolphin.

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
Taylor Swift.

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month and holiday are in the same month, which is December. I’ve always loved being a Christmas baby, even though my birthday is on the 27th of December. Christmas day has always been my favorite time of year to spend with my family and friends. Just the sight of snow on the bare trees and the smell of Christmas trees makes me feel whole and content.

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The tv-show Bones.

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
Take a year-long trip to Australia.

Who inspires you to be better?
My mother.
