The Faces of Cincinnati presents Mr. Alex Moore:
Barry Manilow stopped his recent concert at Heritage Bank Center to announce the winner of his “Manilow Music Teacher’s Award.” This great award is granted to the teacher in his tour cities who by virtue of his/her student support wins a backstage tour as well as some cash to help the school program. The winner he announced was our very own Mr. Alex Moore, Director of Orchestras at Oak Hills High School.
It is easy to see why Mr. Moore scores high marks with his students and staff. Not only is he passionate about his music, but he uses his teaching venue to help his students learn some valuable lessons about life. Simply said, he is a giver. We are honored to present Mr. Alex Moore
In his words.
I’m the Director of Orchestras at Oak Hills High School, Director of the NKU Youth Symphony Orchestra, and a Violinist in the Mason Symphony. And most recently, the Winner of the Barry Manilow Music Award. I went to Wright State University for undergrad in Music Education and Butler University for my Masters in Orchestral Conducting. I play several instruments, but mostly violin, piano, and saxophone!

This year I teach an advanced high school piano class, two high school orchestras, beginning band, and beginning strings!
